Privacy policy of Stichting Muk tegen Kinderdementie

Last updated: 16 July 2026

1. Who are we?

Stichting Muk tegen Kinderdementie, based at Domineestuin 8, 1544 PT Zaandijk, is responsible for processing personal data through this website.

2. What data do we process?

When you donate online, we ask for your first name, last name and email address. These details are needed to process your donation through our current payment provider and are used for payment confirmation, support and a one-time thank-you email. We do not use them for newsletters. Our donation form does not ask for your address, postcode, town or phone number.

For payment processing and financial records, the following information may also be processed or provided to us by the bank or payment provider:

  • donation amount, date, payment method and payment status;
  • transaction or order number;
  • the payer’s name and bank account number, where these are available with the transaction;
  • technical information needed to operate the website securely, such as IP address, browser information and essential cookies.

If you use our contact form or email us, we process the contact details and content you provide.

3. What do we use these data for?

  • to process your chosen donation and payment;
  • to send a payment confirmation and one personal thank-you email;
  • to respond to questions or payment problems;
  • to maintain our financial and tax records;
  • to prevent and investigate fraud, misuse and technical problems.

A donation does not subscribe you to a newsletter. We do not use your email address for regular marketing without separate consent. The thank-you email does include an optional link to Stichting Muk on Instagram.

4. Legal bases

We only process data where there is a valid legal basis:

  • necessary to fulfil your request: processing the donation, payment and confirmation;
  • legal obligation: maintaining and retaining auditable financial records;
  • legitimate interest: the one-time thank-you email, answering questions and securing the website. We limit the data and its use as much as possible;
  • consent: only when we ask for it separately and clearly, for example for a future newsletter.

5. How long do we retain data?

We generally retain information that forms part of our core financial records for seven years, in accordance with Dutch tax record-keeping requirements. Other contact and technical data are kept no longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, unless the law requires a longer retention period.

6. Who do we share data with?

We only share data where necessary for donations, record-keeping, communication or security. This may include:

  • Rabo Smart Pay and the selected bank or payment service;
  • our website, hosting and email service providers;
  • our bookkeeper or accountant;
  • government authorities where we are legally required to provide information.

These parties may only process data within their own legal role or in accordance with the agreements applicable to them.

7. Security

The website uses a secure HTTPS connection. Access to donation and administrative data is restricted to authorised people and systems. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to reduce the risk of loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

8. Your privacy rights

You can ask us to access, correct, restrict, transfer or delete your personal data. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may not be able to delete some data immediately if we are legally required to retain them.

Send your request to steun@stichtingmuk.nl. To prevent misuse, we may ask for information that allows us to verify your identity carefully.

9. Making a complaint

If we cannot resolve the matter with you, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
